A celebration in honor of the 100th anniversary since the birth of Blazhe Koneski and the announcement of the recipients of the “Golden Wreath” and “Bridges of Struga” Awards will take place tomorrow at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris

At the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France, tomorrow (22nd of March) at 4:00 p.m., a celebratory event will take place in honor of the 100th anniversary of Blazhe Koneski’s birth, a giant of Macedonian culture, a jubilee which is part of the calendar of important international jubilees of UNESCO.

As part of the event, which also celebrates the World Poetry Day – 21st of March, the Laureate of this year’s 60th edition of the “Struga Poetry Evenings” will be announced, as well as the recipient of the “Bridges of Struga” Award, which is awarded in cooperation with UNESCO.

To that end, the Minister of Culture, Irena Stefoska, as well as the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, will have a video address.

The event is part of the National program “2021 – Year in honor of Blazhe Koneski”, which is realized with the support of the President Stevo Pendarovski, the Ministry of Culture, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science.

By organizing this event, we are returning to a previous tradition, where the celebration of the World Poetry Day and the announcement of the recipient of the “Golden Wreath” Award - the highest recognition of the “Struga Poetry Evenings”, as well as the recipient of the “Bridges of Struga” Award for the best debut poetry book with the support of UNESCO, are being caried out in Paris, at the headquarters of this prestigious organization of the United Nations for education, science and culture.
