Branko Cvetkoski

BRANKO CVETKOSKI (Slatino, Ohrid, June 21, 1954) is a Macedonian poet, literary critic, essayist, translator, publicist and publisher.
He is the author of 26 books of poetry, criticism, essays and non-fiction. In 2014, his Selected Works were published in 6 volumes. He published over 30 translated books by prominent Balkan, European and world poets, prose writers and publicists, mainly representatives of Slavic literatures.
Some poetry books or selections of Cvetkoski's poetic oeuvre have been translated and published in 18 languages.
He is the winner of 18 prestigious Macedonian and international literary awards, as well as the "St. Clement of Ohrid" State Award for long-term achievements in the field of culture and art of interest to the Republic of Macedonia, in 2009.
He is a member of the Macedonian PEN Center, member of the Macedonian Writers' Association, a member of the Slavic Literary and Art Academy based in Varna (Bulgaria), and its Macedonian national coordinator, and an honorary member of the Bulgarian Writers' Union.
He is one of the founders of the Balkan Literary Foundation "Balkanika", and the founder of the publishing house "Makavej" and the magazine "Knizevno Zitie" (Literary Life).
