We’re the voices from the forest they want to keep quiet
but we are daybreak,
we are the dawn,
rising against vicious prejudice
I am thankful for my Origin,
for being a Shuar woman who becomes many women in every single poem,
in every single written word, gently stroked and loved.
The voices of the forest are my legacy to you
and its many age-old creatures who, infinitely gentle, shed light upon life
