Ron Winkler, born in 1973, is a freelance writer and translator living in Berlin. While studying German and history in Jena, he founded the poetry magazine intendenzen, which he has run for a decade.
Winkler has given readings in Austria, Nicaragua, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Poland, Albania, China, Switzerland, the United States, Taiwan, Montenegro and Argentina. His poems have been translated into 21 languages and counting, and he has served as writer-in-residence in Córdoba, Argentina; Venice, Italy; and Chernivtsi, Ukraine. His most recent poetry collection, Precious Midnight, was just released. In addition to poetry, he writes flash fiction. Winkler has been editor of five poetry anthologies and has translated a number of poetry collections from the English.
