HolySpirit

  1. When ecstasy overtakes me to the point of tears

And the impulse to sing and exalt overflows within me

You are there, you are here

When the perfumes of linden, black locust

    Suffuse the city

Reminding me of my beloved lilac

And I long to return Home to my childhood

You are there, you are here

When I am awakened by the first ray of sunlight

And made restful by the last

    Before the moonrise

Not in the sky, not on Earth

You are there, you are here

    When the seabed beckons me

    Into marine depths

    Into the house of fear

    Filled with seductive wonders

You are there, you are here

When I am jolted by sharp pain

    Of words with countless stingers

And a boundless melancholy with traces of despair

Typical of the Macedonian way and woe

You are there, you are here

When in the midst of life I begin to pray

    And faith returns to me

    Without my having noticed

You are there, you are here

    When the difference is lost

    Between beginning and end

    Between life and death

You are there, you are here

When two oceans exist beside each other

    Without fusion

    Without dissolving the border

    That line of freedom

To be one, and yet apart

You are there, you are here

Riddle without answer, flashing like lightning

Silently, yet clearly; perfect, yet uncompleted

You are Over There, you are Over Here.

    So foreign, so native!
