Did you leave your dwelling

Before the first crow of roosters, as

Sarah watched you go!? Did you know

Your faith and the voice of the Father!?

Where is your horse, with wings!?

Did you take by the hand your child

Your only son, sweet

Isaac, the child of your old age!?

Did you go to the land of Moriah!?

Did you tie his hands and legs!?

Did you place the wood, take out

The knife!? Did he ask

While your mind was set on the law of

The Lord

Why do you do this, my do this, my father!?

Did you utter, from deep

Waters, from dense forests

From a cramped skete, for there is no

Path, for the path is everywhere

My son, my son, if you are

Ready to serve, becalm

Your heart!
