Let It Not Be Repeated: so much evil is never for good

Times change, but not always for the better.
Once there were prophets—today, false seers.
Once, there were heroes—today, cowards.
Once, mighty kingdoms stood—
Today, powerless protectorates, rotten bananas.
Once, the world expanded—today, it contracts.
Even the sky dreams of freedom.

Times change, and so do the maps.
Some are archived, others erased,
or overwritten—new lines atop the old.
Map upon map, until the truth is forgotten.

Times change, and wars no longer have red lines.
Rivers of innocent blood flow in every direction.
Not sacrificial lambs, but sacrificial nations.
There is tax in blood—and blood impure.
There are legalized crimes and empty promises.
There is far too much of what should not be.

Times change, and violence grows more violent.
Whole cities crumble like castles of sand and tears.
People shatter like eggs gripped in a basket.
Children are butchered as if they were wild boars.
Where great civilizations once thrived—
now lie crushed tribes.

Times change, and bloodlust celebrates.
When the wise fall silent, evil speaks.
Nature is weary of unnatural death.
Hell is fed up with hellish scenes!

Is there a man— a woman— to quench the fire?
Let there be no revenge, no slavery, no exodus—
Let there be no wars: not civil, not religious, none!

Every war is futile, and fatal in its own way.
Everyone loses—even victory is a defeat.
So much evil leads to nothing good;
So much evil leads nowhere—
nowhere, wherever that is.
