Biography
Claudio Pozzani was born in 1961 in Genoa (Italy). Poet, narrator and musician, his poems have been translated and published into more than 10 languages and he performs in the most important international literary and poetry festivals. In 1995 Pozzani created the Genoa International Poetry Festival “Parole spalancate”, the oldest and biggest poetry event in Italy of which he is still the director. He has also organized several poetry events in Europe (Belgium, France, Finland, Germany) and Japan. In 2001 he founded the Stanza della Poesia in Genoa.
As an author, his latest works are the CD/book (poetry and music) “La Marcia dell’ombra”, the anthology “Spalancati spazi – Poesie 1995 – 2016” (Passigli editori), the DVD of the live reading-concert with the PoetOrchestra “La realtà della speranza”.
In 2015 he co-founded the European platform Versopolis, with 14 other European poetry festivals (now the network includes 30 festivals from as many countries). In 2019 the director Fabio Giovinazzo made the film “L’Anima nel ventre” based on his poems. In 2023, he published the novels “Kate et moi” (La rumeur libre, France) and “Confessioni di un misantropo” (La Nave di Teseo, Italy).
