Biography
Ivan (Ivica) Djeparoski (1958, Skopje)
Poet, philosopher, essayist, critic, anthologist, translator.
He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje where he received his M.A. and Ph.D.
He works at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje as a full professor of Aesthetics and Philosophy of Culture. He was Head of the Institute of Philosophy (2004-2009; 2013-2021), head of postgraduate studies of the Institute of philosophy (2010-2013), and secretary of Macedonian P.E.N. Centre (1999-2001; 2009-2014). He is an author of thirty five books: eight poetry books, three poetry anthologies, sixteen books in the field of aesthetics and cultural theory and also of eight anthologies in literature and aesthetics, for which he was awarded the “Mlad Borec” (1984), “Dimitar Mitrev” (1993) “Paradigm” (2009), “Brothers Miladinov Prize” (2016) and “Literary Scepter Award” (2021). He was also granted the “Grigor Prlicev Award” (1993) for a poetic rendition. His poetry and some of his essays are translated into more than twenty languages and selections of his poetry are published into English, Romanian, Bulgarian, Albanian and Serbian language.
