Biography

Roza Boyanova, Bulgaria, was born on 06.03.1953 Rabrovo, Kulsko, Bulgaria. Bulgarian Philology, Konstantin Preslavski University, 1976, Shoumen, Bulgaria. Until 1988 she worked in the cultural sphere in Shoumen: at the District Council for Culture and the School of Arts. Since then she has been living in Burgas where since 1989 she has been the art pedagogue of creative writing for children, and an event organizer for Luyben Karavelov 1940 Community Center. 

Author of 20 books of poetry, journalism and literary criticism. Compiler and editor of anthologies and collections published in Bulgaria and abroad. She is the author of two books of non-fiction: Literary Games with Children (co-authored with Krasimir Kunchev), Narodna Mladezh: 1988, Sofia, Bulgaria. Documentary investigation of the psychology of the creative process. Literary Games with Children or L’ar Pedagogique (co-authored with Associate Professor Krasimir Kunchev). Libra Scorp: 2005. Burgas, Bulgaria. Second, supplemented edition of the documentary investigation of the creative process psychology. 

Awards and other distinctions: “Vladimir Bashev National Poetry Debut” Award, 1985, for the book Thirsty Water, Sofia, Bulgaria. “Ivan Peychev National Poetry” Award, 2007, for the book “A Distant Diptych, Shumen, Bulgaria. “Anna Akhmatova International Literary Prize” for outstanding contribution to the popularization of Russian literature and poetic understanding of the female soul, 2019, Sofia, Bulgaria Nomination for the prestigious “European Poetry Award” at the 15th edition of the International Poetry Nights Festival, 2011 at the East-West International Academy in Curtea de Arges, Romania. Winner of the “Macedonian Literary Daedalus” Award. Honorary citizen of Burgas.
